The ProspecTER project began in 2022, as a project funded by Science Foundation Ireland and involving a partnership between Dr. Shane O'Reilly at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Sligo and Dr. Brian Kelleher at Dublin City University (DCU). In early 2023, the ProspecTER team was formed and we have since been embarking on a journey of marine natural product discovery. ProspecTER is currently funded for four years but its ambitions stretch far beyond this; we aim to make meaningful, long-term contributions to marine biodiscovery, the blue bioeconomy and wider society. 

Since May 2024, principal investigator Shane O'Reilly is based in Technological University Dublin and the project continutes in collaboration with ATU, Sligo and DCU.
